9 is available now on PlayStation 4 as part of the PlayStation Plus lineup for March. Download it if you fancy trying it but I don’t recommend it. 9 won’t cure the itch you may have for Mega Man and with the Mega Man Legacy collections available on nearly all platforms there is hardly any reason to play Mighty No. I feel sorry for people who backed this project. In order to better illustrate why fans of its spiritual predecessor Mega Man feel a bit let down, we might have 9 mighty reasons why this mighty title may. 9 is not just a poor title but honestly it is a lackluster experience that should not be this bad by a mile. I won’t even start on the budget for this title and what is clearly some horrible management of the whole project. As a video game it comes across as a student project and not one developed by a team of (what I hope) are skilled people. It is there that my main problem with Mighty No. Hitboxes are all over the place there is no sense of difficulty scaling and the locations look and feel unfinished. These problems extend into the levels as well, with some of the most uninspiring levels ever made. Your character movements feel slow and unresponsive and the dash ability, sold as the main gameplay mechanic, ends up being a complete waste. For starters, the gameplay is boring and so dull that there is next to no enjoyment. 9 is by far one of the worst video games I’ve ever played, and I’m not sorry for saying that. After a long development cycle with a number of delays and bumps along the way the game released to mixed reviews. By the time the campaign finished and PayPal donations were counted the top raised was over $4 million in funding. While these articles may not be reviews, we hope that you will be able to use them to help decide whether that free download is worth it. This series will contain some useful information as well as plenty of personal opinion. Mighty No. 9įreebie Feelers is a series where we download the free monthly console-specific or newly released free-to-play games to test their worth. Videogame documentary specialists 2 Player Productions is also going to be involved in the project.// Articles // 18th Mar 2018 - 5 years ago // By Judgemental Waifu Freebie Feelers. The team working on the game includes several Mega Man veterans and includes Manami Matsumae, the composer of the original Mega Man soundtrack. The project intends to bring 'the best aspects of the 8- and 16-bit era classics' and update them with modern technology, new mechanics and temper them with a little fan input through the Kickstarter project. Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U console versions are not out of the question, but are listed as a stretch goal at the $2,500,000 mark. 9 is being developed for the PC and will be available through Steam or through a DRM-free digital download, distributed with the help of the Humble Bundle team. This means the game has almost hit its first stretch goal of two additional stages and the game still has 28 days left on the clock to raise further funds. ![]() ![]() The funding goal of $900,000 was easily exceeded and at the time of writing, the total number of pledges sits at just over $1,195,000 from 20,647 backers. Further descriptions on the Kickstarter project page also sound familiar, for example the ability to equip the weapons taken from defeated boss robots. ![]() 9, bears a striking aesthetic similarity to the Mega Man games and features Beck, a powerful blue robot, as the main playable character. Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune has taken to Kickstarter to fund a spiritual successor of the classic 2D platformer and managed to hit his funding goal in 24 hours.
